.Protein cookies
Believe it or not, they do exist! How are they made? What is the key ingredient? With the help of whey protein powder! That’s right, the trend of protein cookies came in when humans discovered that they could actually bake anything with whey powder in it. The trend then came into being and people started baking protein cakes and cookies in so many different ways and so many different flavours that the trend just took over the whole place. Athletes then decided that when made with the right kind of ingredients (healthy/little cooking oil, no sugar, etc.), these cookies/biscuits could serve as ones everyday protein fix. Flavours like peanut butter, vanilla, chocolate chip, strawberry, etc. can be embraced. Many also often top their cookies with raisins, small walnuts, nuts, choco chips, white choco chips, etc.
.Apple and peanut butter. Because apples are the best snack. They not only provide energy, fibre and a sweet crunch but also provide your body with the protein it truly needs.
.Trail mix/granola. Granola is wonderful because it provides healthy fats, carbs (from the oats) fibre and a good source of protein.
.Veggie omelette. You truly can’t go wrong with eggs.It makes for the best protein source there is and can be made in oh-so-many ways.
.Greek yoghurt with fruit. If you’re going to eat greek yoghurt, aim for an organic version. And you don’t always have to go for fat-free! Try low-fat Greek yoghurt with fresh berries or banana.
.Protein shake or fruit smoothie. I usually make a smoothie with a scoop of protein powder, fresh fruit, a little nut butter and almond milk. This Healthy Strawberry Protein Shake is one of my favourites!
